10K TONS OF PRESSURE
To make these the strongest wheels we possibly can, we applied as much pressure as possible using a 10,000 ton forge. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.
PROPRIETARY BLANKS
Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. We’ve invested in our own proprietary blank profiles to give us full control over the final product.
"I" BEAM SPOKES
One of the most significant upgrades to the EC-7R is the addition of "I" beam spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out from the sides of the spokes using a precision CNC ball cutter. This process is often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, but for true performance without compromise we believe it's essential.
ACTUALLY STRONGER
Want to know how strong a wheel is? Look at the load rating. Many wheel manufacturers simply rely on the word “forged” to imply strength when their actual load ratings are just as low as cast wheels. Ours were designed from the start to have measurably higher load ratings so they don’t just sound stronger, they are stronger.

BIG BRAKE CLEARANCE
The EC-7R improves on the original EC-7's already-phenomenal brake clearance, thanks to our high-clearance forged blanks. Forging allows us to reduce spoke thickness without compromising strength. As a result, the EC-7R has more brake clearance than any wheel we’ve ever made.

BIGGER, TOUGHER INNER LIP
The inner lip is the most vulnerable part of a wheel, because it has no spokes for support. By using forged 6061-T6 aluminum, and reinforcing this high-impact area with more material, we provide an extra layer of protection against track berms, potholes, and whatever else the road may throw at you.
WEIGHT OPTIMIZED
We conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to reinforce high stress areas and to remove material where it didn’t improve strength. The end result is a wheel with an ideal balance of strength and weight.
PAINTLESS KNURLED BEADS
Whether it’s a day at the track or months of street driving, repeated hard braking can make a tire slip along the bead seat and go out of balance, causing vibration. Knurled beads help, but are less effective when painted over. Our Forged line features unpainted knurled beads that stay sharp and maximize grip.

BUILT FOR IMPACT SOCKETS
Track wheels need track tools. Don’t settle for wheels that require undersized tuner lugs or thin walled sockets. All APEX wheels accommodate over-sized race lugs and impact sockets to make swapping wheels lightning fast.

APEX forged wheels exceed JWL load rating requirements by almost 20%. Some manufacturers don't meet the minimum requirements, yet still claim to be compliant. Always compare load ratings to ensure you aren’t sacrificing critical strength for a slightly lighter wheel.

HUB CENTRIC
All APEX wheels are purpose built for select vehicle applications to not require centering rings. All Porsche specific 5x130mm bolt pattern wheels feature a direct-fit, 71.6mm center bore.
CENTER CAPS
All APEX Porsche wheels come with our Gloss Black cap included which is interchangeable with the OE Porsche crest cap. We also offer optional red caps.
HARDWARE
APEX Porsche wheels are engineered to be compatible with your OEM R14 ball seat mounting hardware. They’ll also accept proper aftermarket hardware, stud kits and spacers.
TPMS
Accepts OEM and aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors and standard valve stems. No sensors? Select from our metal stems, in multiple finishes.
